At the very core of NASC’s purpose and mission stands its focus on standards, quality and safety. At the same time, high-quality, certified products are at the heart of industry standards and safety.
These two concepts come together in a practical way in NASC’s Approved Product scheme, under which suppliers’ products in certain categories of products – namely those that can be clearly independently audited and certified as meeting agreed quality standards – are given an official stamp of approval by NASC.
Sean Pike, managing director of Layher UK, and chairman of NASC’s Supplier Committee, is convinced the scheme, and the Approved Product logo that comes with it, are good for the industry.
“As Chair of the NASC Supplier Committee, I am pleased to affirm the value and integrity of the NASC Approved Product status and the accompanying NASC Approved Product logo. These recognitions are not simply endorsements—they represent the outcome of a detailed and independent audit process that confirms a product’s compliance with the highest standards of safety, quality and suitability for use within the scaffolding and access industry,” he said.
While the NASC Approved Product Logo is a relatively newly formed, Pike added that it is already a “trusted mark” that can only be displayed by audited suppliers, and only in direct association with the specific product that has successfully passed the NASC’s rigorous assessment. “This process and focus ensures transparency, maintains the credibility of the scheme and offers clarity to contractors, clients and all industry stakeholders.
“Suppliers achieving NASC Approved status demonstrate leadership in quality assurance and a commitment to best practice. We encourage all industry professionals to look for the NASC Approved Product Logo as a clear indication of a product’s verified performance and compliance, backed by the UK’s leading scaffolding trade association.”
