Position Overview

NASC is looking for an enthusiastic Careers Executive to help drive the recruitment and talent development agenda within the scaffolding and access industry. This role will focus on promoting the sector as a rewarding career choice, supporting NASC members with recruitment strategies, and advocating for best practice in human resources. The successful candidate will work closely with the marketing team, NASC members, and wider stakeholders to develop and execute impactful initiatives that support recruitment, mentoring, training, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Promotion of Careers in the Scaffolding and Access Sector
• Serve as an ambassador for career opportunities within the scaffolding and access industry.
• Develop and execute marketing campaigns in collaboration with the NASC Marketing team, including social media, career fairs, and partnerships with schools and colleges.
• Ensure these efforts align with NASC’s brand and strategic objectives.

2. Talent Solution Coordination
• Support NASC members in implementing and maximizing the use of NASC’s Talent Solution portal.
• Provide guidance on recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to member companies.
• Track and report on the performance of the Talent Solution portal, measuring its impact on member recruitment and retention.

3. Advocating Best Practices in Human Resources
• Promote HR best practices across NASC member companies, with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and mental health initiatives.
• Develop and share resources, toolkits, and best practice guidance on mentoring, employee engagement, and training with NASC members.
• Facilitate workshops, webinars, and one-on-one support to help members improve their HR practices.

4. Training and Mentoring Programs
• Collaborate with the NASC Training Committee and the Access and Scaffolding Industry Training Organisation (ASITO) to promote and expand training programs within the sector.
• Advocate for mentoring programs that pair new recruits with experienced scaffolding professionals.
• Celebrate success stories to inspire greater involvement in sector programs.

5. Values-Driven Approach
• Actively promote NASC’s commitment to professionalism, safety, and ethical conduct within the recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Work with members to ensure these core values are integrated into workplace culture and recruitment strategies.

6. Stakeholder Engagement
• Maintain regular communication with NASC members, gathering feedback to continuously improve careers-related initiatives.
• Represent NASC at industry events, conferences, and workshops, promoting careers and training opportunities within the sector.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

Essential:
• Proven experience in careers promotion, HR, marketing, or a related field, ideally with knowledge of professional recruitment practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Knowledge of human resources good practice, including mentoring, training, and employee engagement strategies.
• Familiarity with social media platforms, marketing tools, and content creation for recruitment purposes.
• A proactive, values-driven mindset, with a passion for promoting diversity and inclusion.

Desirable:
• Experience in the scaffolding, construction, or related sectors.
• Involvement in apprenticeship or mentoring programs, or experience in training delivery.
• Understanding of NASC’s mission and its role in promoting professionalism within the scaffolding and access industry.
• A qualification from the CIPD
