Position Overview

A position is available for two contracted Compliance Officer – Products to assist NASC with confirming the scaffolding equipment produced comply with the required standards. ​This is your opportunity to conduct audits to ensure the products being manufactured by our members comply with the minimum requirements for that product. We’re seeking a self-driven individual who can work alone and be willing to travel.   This is a contract position where audits will be conducted during the period of May to October each year.

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Planning: Liaise with the Supplier Members to arrange the documentation and requirements for the site audit within the set timeframes.
  2. Product Auditing: Conduct audits of the Manufacturing Suppliers using the NASC protocol and sample the products produced.
  3. Product Sampling: Sample the products produced and submit them to an accredited laboratory for analysis.  You will also be required to review and assess the results to show the product complies with criteria.
  4. Communication Management: Must be able to clearly communicate with the Members as well as the NASC office regarding the audit.  Must also be able to record the findings in a report so that the outcome is clear and concise.
  5. Compliance Support: You must be able to work alone on the Members sites but be an integral role within the Quality and Operational processes of NASC.

About You

  • Excellent Knowledge of Metals: You will be required to review the products being produced by firstly visually ensuring there is no physical damage or substandard manufacture.  Experience in Welding Inspecting will be a good advantage.
  • Good Auditor Knowledge: You must have ability to independently and without bias, audit an organisation and record the outcome in such a manner that is clear and concise.
  • Self-Driven: You will be required to work remotely and adhere to strict deadlines.  You will be required to contact the Members and arrange the dates for the audits as well as communicate with the laboratories to send the samples.
  • Ability to Travel: As the members are located at various sites throughout the UK, you will be required to travel to their sites.  You will be required to hold a valid driver’s licence and your own roadworthy vehicle.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Qualified Welding Inspector or similar role.
  • Internal Auditors qualification.
  • “A” level or equivalent; further education and certification will be a plus.
