Anchor Tie Testing, in line with TG4 Anchorage Systems for Scaffolding

10.15am – 1pm, 10 June 2026 ‐ 2 hours 45 mins

Room: Inside scaffolding rig 3

Live demonstration

Correct anchor selection and testing are critical to scaffold safety, but standards and methods continue to evolve.
This practical demonstration will focus on scaffolding tie testing in line with the TG4 Anchorage Systems for Scaffolding management document, and the very recently issued TG4 User Guide and Poster. The session will provide attendees with a clear understanding of best practice approaches to testing, verifying anchor performance and compliance.

NASC released TG4 Anchorage Systems for Scaffolding in 2025, and the newly developed TG4 User Guide and TG4 Poster will accompany the management guidance document. This suite of TG4 guidance have been produced to give comprehensive information on the selection, installation, and management of scaffolding anchorage systems, with the primary objective of raising standards and preventing incidents and harm.

On show during this session will be “the wall” – a full pallet-sized demonstration cube 2.2m tall - showing the various methods and equipment available to perform both TENSILE and SHEAR tests along with the new VERIFY Torque and VERIFY Tag system.

Particular attention will be given to the NEW SG11 safety guidance document, called SG11 Dust, vibration and noise, and the comprehensive information within regarding safe drilling of anchor ties. Then we will detail the correct method of testing of masonry screw-type anchors and lastly discussing tie loads on drawings and how to decipher them and lastly a Q&A or hands on session for any delegates requiring more information.
