Position Overview

NASC is looking for a highly motivated and organised Events Manager to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing a wide range of events, from industry conferences and expos to regional meetings and an awards dinner. Key Responsibilities

  • Event Planning: Work closely with the Head of Business Development to develop and execute strategies for NASC’s events, including flagship events such as ScaffEx (Expo, Conference, Gala Dinner and Awards), regional meetings, webinars, Parliamentary receptions and more.
  • Logistics Management: Handle all logistical elements of events, including venue selection and booking, catering, transportation, AV equipment and event setup to ensure smooth and successful event execution.
  • Budget Management: Assist in preparing event budgets, track expenses and ensure all events remain cost-effective and within budget.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events across multiple channels, such as social media, email campaigns and the NASC website.
  • Speaker & Presenter Coordination: Manage all aspects of speaker and presenter coordination, ensuring they are well-prepared and have the necessary materials and support for their sessions.
  • Registration and Attendee Management: Oversee the event registration process, including ticketing (outsourced for our larger events), attendee lists, and on-site check-in to ensure a smooth attendee experience.
  • Vendor and Supplier Relations: Manage vendor and supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring services meet NASC’s quality standards.
  • On-Site Event Execution: Be present on-site during events to manage logistics, troubleshoot issues, and ensure everything runs smoothly for both attendees and speakers.
  • Post-Event Evaluation: Gather feedback and conduct evaluations after each event to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all events comply with relevant health, safety, and industry regulations.

About You

  • Event Planning Expertise: You have proven experience in event planning and execution, with a strong track record in managing both physical and virtual events. Ideally, you’ve worked in a conference or association setting.
  • Strong Organisational Skills: You are detail-oriented, organised, and capable of juggling multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Communication: With exceptional interpersonal skills, you can build strong relationships with speakers, attendees, vendors, and the internal team, ensuring seamless event delivery.
  • Tech-savvy: You are proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with virtual event platforms is a plus. Understanding of DotDigital would also be a plus.
  • A Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with colleagues across departments to ensure the success of every event.
  • Industry Knowledge: While not essential, any knowledge or experience within the scaffolding and access industry would be an advantage.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Five years’ experience in event planning and execution, particularly in a professional association or conference environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in event management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of the scaffolding and access industry a plus, but not essential.
