The NASC Contractor Member Charter, requires a commitment from all Contractor Members to a fully carded workforce.
The Operative Tracker is a vital part of the NASC audit process as it is used to determine that Contractor member companies meet the requirements of 90% Carded and 50% Qualified Scaffolding Operatives over the previous twelve months.
It is recommended that member firms record their tracker data every week / month, in a working document. This will mean that they are in a better position to ensure that the Operative tracker used at the time of the audit is correct and that the data is easily available.
The categories within the Operative Tracker are defined as follows:
To capture the operatives that conduct scaffolding work on a part time or a few days a week in the Operative Tracker, the percentage of their time needs to be captured. Examples are:
A person that conducts scaffolding work for 3 days a week and office work for the remaining 2 days. Their contribution will be 3/5 or 0.6 to be added to the operative tracker in the correct category.
A person that only does scaffolding work for 5 days a month. Their contribution will be 5/25 or 0.2 to be added to the operative tracker in the correct category.
