Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and well-organised Administrator to join our team at NASC. This is a diverse and hands-on role where you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors and enquiries, provide administrative support across the organisation, and help manage day-to-day operations. From overseeing publication sales and office administration to supporting staff with meetings and travel, your role will be essential to ensuring the smooth running of the office.

Key Responsibilities

Front of House

Be the first point of contact for visitors, deliveries, and incoming telephone calls.

  • Handle queries via phone and liaise with NASC staff to provide accurate advice on a range of topics, including training, health & safety, technical, and marketing matters.

 

Publication Sales

  • Assist with the sales of NASC publications by preparing packages, arranging couriers, processing cheques, and preparing invoices.

 

General Administration

  • Manage incoming and outgoing post, deliveries, and office stationery orders.
  • Ensure the office is well-maintained: arrange bulk shredding, manage confidential waste disposal, and liaise with the office cleaner.
  • Maintain order in the storage room and oversee kitchen supplies and general housekeeping.
  • Book venues for internal and external NASC meetings.
  • Coordinate the delivery of marketing materials to trade shows and events.
  • Maintain the NASC meeting room calendar.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for NASC staff attending external meetings.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with finance tasks as required, particularly processing purchase invoices.
  • Provide administrative support and back-up for colleagues during absence or holidays.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

Required:

  • Good telephone manner and strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and see tasks through to completion.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
  • Interest in learning about accounting or business operations is a plus.
