Next NASC Vice President nominated

NASC Council has nominated Wayne Connolly of Connolly Scaffolding Ltd as its next Vice President.

NASC Council has nominated Wayne Connolly of Connolly Scaffolding Ltd as its next Vice President. Wayne’s appointment will be officially confirmed at the NASC AGM in November, at which the current NASC President Lynn Way of Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding Ltd will be succeeded by Vice President David Brown of IBN Scaffold Access Ltd.

Alan Lilley of Commercial Scaffolding Ltd will step down as an NASC Officer and Director on the same day.

Wayne has been directly involved with the NASC since 2017, when he became the NASC North West and North Wales region chair. Three years later he took up the role of chair of the NASC Audit Committee, now known as the NASC Membership & Compliance Committee.

Speaking about becoming NASC Vice President, Wayne said: “I am passionate about the NASC, what it stands for, and more importantly our potential to meet not only our members’ expectations, but also the needs of our industry in the future.

“We face a number of challenges as the industry is changing but this presents a huge opportunity for the NASC to cement its position and further grow our network of contractor and non-contractor members.

“This will require a balanced approach and that’s something I believe I can bring to the table as an NASC Director.”

Robin James, NASC Managing Director, said: “On behalf of the NASC Officers and Directors, NASC Council and indeed all at the NASC, I’d like to congratulate Wayne on his nomination as NASC Vice President elect.

“He has made a real impact as both an NASC regional and committee chair and I’m sure he’ll help to deliver similar results in his latest position.

“I’d also like to thank Alan Lilley for his lengthy service to the NASC, in particular his involvement as an NASC Director, a position which he has held since 2013.”
