Membership questions
How does my company join NASC as a member?
My company contacts have changed. How can I let NASC know?
Please contact [email protected] via email. Please ensure that the email contains:
The name of the contact who has left
The name, email address, phone number (if applicable), and type (i.e. a general contact for NASC correspondence, an audit contact, a safety contact etc) of the new contact.
What happens now I have completed my online Application Form for Membership of NASC?
Once we have received your completed form registering an interest in membership, our Membership team will review the information to ascertain whether the outline information provided meets NASC criteria. If the outline information meets NASC criteria, you will then be asked to pay the application fee.
Once the application fee has been received, a portal will be opened for you to submit the full application form. Following completion of the form, a site audit will be arranged. The site audit will be conducted at your company's premises and will include visits to a number of your sites.
Once the auditing procedure has been completed successfully, your membership application will be approved.
Contractor member/applicant Audits
What should I do if I get this error message when trying to upload documentation for the NASC audit?
To upload external files to your audit report, please use the ‘File Upload’ hyperlink at the top of each section.
Once the ‘File Upload’ has been clicked, it will take you to the file upload index where you can upload files by using the ‘Add Files’ button in the top right.
Instructions regarding the above are attached to the desktop audit invitation email sent at the start of the month of the company’s audit.
Why doesn’t the file I am uploading onto the NASC audit portal appear in the index when uploaded, with the question remaining unanswered?
Why am I getting the error message “No applicable approval process found”, when I try to submit my NASC audit?
This message appears when the desktop audit has not been completed. This is shown by not all section boxes at the top of the audit page being ticked. All questions on the desktop audit (unless the question states it is ‘if applicable’) must be answered before the desktop audit can be submitted.
In the example below, Sections 4-6 are not completed, and so the error message is appearing when the audit attempts to submit.
Why am I unable to log into the audit portal?
The NASC audit portal can only be logged into during the desktop audit of the NASC audit process. Members are unable to access the audit portal if:
- The company is attempting to access the portal before being invited to start the desktop audit (please see the next answer to get the date at which a member will be invited to start their NASC audit).
- The desktop audit has been submitted.
What type of audit will my company have this year, and when will my company be invited to start their audit?
Over a membership tenure, the general audit lifecycle is as below:
- 1st Year – Application Audit
- 2nd Year – Site Audit
- 3rd Year – Desktop Audit
- 4th Year – Site Audit
- 5th Year - Desktop Audit
This cycle then repeats. So, if a business had a site audit one year, the next year it is likely to get a desktop audit. Although ad hoc site audits are also possible.
Members are sent audit invitations one month before their certificate expiry for desktop audits, and two months before their certificate expiry for site audits.
