Compliance Sheet Notice

Compliance Sheet Notice

Introduction

The NASC ePortal, including TG20 and TG30 and the associated compliance sheet outputs, have been developed to support the entire UK scaffolding industry and is available to both NASC members and non-members. The production of a compliance sheet does not, in itself, infer NASC membership.

Duty Holders under CDM 2015

Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, clients, principal contractors, and contractors must ensure that those they appoint have the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, and organisational capability to carry out work safely.

Why Use NASC Members

NASC members are independently audited against the full suite of NASC guidance and recognised industry standards, including TG20, TG30, and SG4. Auditing also requires that at least 90% of operational staff hold CISRS cards, with a minimum of 50% qualified to scaffolder or advanced scaffolder level.

Non-NASC Contractors – Additional Checks

Where a contractor is not an NASC member, there is no independent assurance of equivalent standards. Any compliance sheet or design produced should therefore be subject to additional verification.

Duty holders should satisfy themselves that:

  • Organisational capability is appropriate
  • TG20/TG30 compliance sheets or bespoke designs are correct
  • The workforce is suitably trained in line with NASC and CISRS standards

This ensures risks are reduced so far as is reasonably practicable.

Further Guidance

The NASC is the UK’s leading trade body for scaffolding and access, producing guidance such as SG39 Guidance on Appointing a Scaffolding Contractor, available via the NASC website.
