Taking place on Wednesday 26 March 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, the event offers local young people a unique opportunity to discover what a career in scaffolding looks like from the ground up. Attendance is open to Tower Hamlets residents aged 16 and over who are interested in starting a career in scaffolding.

Visitors will take part in a site tour, attend a presentation on scaffolding career pathways, and take part in a hands-on scaffolding activity.

The event will also shine a spotlight on Lee Marley’s two-year scaffolding apprenticeship programme, during which apprentices alternate between college-based learning and live construction site placements, gaining skills in erecting, modifying and dismantling scaffolding systems, working safely at height, understanding load capacities, and reading technical drawings.

Sara Calvo, Scaffold Training Manger at Lee Marley Group, commented: “The Lee Marley Scaffold Division are delighted to be a part of this fantastic initiative as we grow our scaffolding teams across London. It’s an opportunity for local young people to gain insight into a career with us in Scaffolding, including information about our two-year apprenticeship programme.”

The event forms part of Open Doors, the annual construction industry initiative led by Build UK, which sees companies across the sector open their sites and offices to students, parents, teachers and career changers to showcase the breadth of opportunity within construction. NASC is proud to support member companies in participating in the scheme as part of its ongoing commitment to attracting new talent into the scaffolding and access industry.

Rebekah Jardine, Careers Executive at NASC, commented: “Congratulations to Lee Marley on participating in Open Doors. By welcoming visitors onto your site and showcasing real career pathways in construction, you’re helping break down barriers, challenge perceptions, and inspire the next generation to see what’s possible in our industry.”

Places are limited to a maximum of 15 attendees. To register interest or secure a place, contact Sara Calvo at [email protected] or Lisa Beresford at [email protected]
