Safety Harness Product Recall

Honeywell Fall Protection has recalled some H500-Series harnesses

Honeywell Fall Protection France SAS is recalling the Honeywell Miller branded H500 series harnesses produced between 1 March and 30 June 2025 at the Nabeul, Tunisia production facility. The affected products can be identified by their manufacturing date, article number and manufacturing location, which are indicated on the product label. The product was sold through distributors.

Why is the product dangerous?

The recall notice highlights that a limited number of units of the H500-Series Harnesses produced at the Nabeul, Tunisia facility between March and June last year may have been assembled with incorrect webbing routing through the front/sternal D-ring and/or leg buckles. As the notice points out,  this poses "a serious safety risk". It goes on to explain that,

"This deviation may severely limit or even completely disable the safety function of the harness in the event of a fall from height. In specific circumstances, the front/sternal D-ring and leg buckles may not be able to withstand the necessary load requirements. This could result in serious, potentially fatal, injuries."

What to do next?

The notice is clear that anyone who thinks they may have a faulty harness should stop using it immediately and follow the steps outlined in the document (see the below PDF) to ascertain if their harness is one of those affected.
