The NASC Code of Practice (CoP), first introduced in 2007 for system scaffolds, has evolved over time to ensure that the highest quality standards are met for key products across the scaffolding industry. The scope has been expanded to incorporate EN39 tube, EN74-1 couplers, BS2482 timber board, aluminium beams, high tensile 3.2mm tube and prefabricated structural transoms or PSTs.
The NASC Approved Product brand has now replaced the old Code of Practice audit, representing a new gold standard for NASC compliant scaffolding products. This rigorous certification ensures that NASC approved products undergo comprehensive quality checks, covering Quality Systems & Procedures, Product Testing, Raw Materials & Components, Process Control, and, where applicable, Environmental & Sustainability, Health & Safety, and Ethical standards. Relevant BS, EN, and ISO standards are applied throughout to maintain consistency and excellence in production.
Audits for NASC Approved Products are carried out by QSI Ltd, a third-party consultancy, across member companies’ UK sites and global manufacturing sites. This certification applies specifically to new product upon entry to the UK market, allowing contractors and access providers to procure essential equipment with complete confidence.
NASC Approved Product brand logo can now be displayed on all certified products, serving as a mark of quality, safety, and industry compliance. Members who wish to highlight their supply of NASC Approved Products may use the title “Supplier of NASC Approved Product/s” alongside the logo, in line with brand guidelines.
The NASC Approved Product initiative underlines NASC’s commitment to raising standards within the industry, ensuring that only the best, safest products are available to support the work of scaffolding and access contractors across the UK.
