No space? No problem: Brand Access Solutions at the Moxy Hotel Bristol
Scaffolding a fully operational city centre hotel while keeping guests coming and going, deliveries running and the public safe is no straightforward task. When Brand Access Solutions took on the Moxy Hotel project in Bristol, that was exactly the challenge they faced and the solution they delivered is a compelling example of what meticulous planning and innovative engineering looks like in practice.
The client needed complete scaffold encapsulation and a robust, watertight temporary roof to enable modernisation and upgrade works while the hotel remained open throughout. The site presented a series of demanding challenges from the outset: a timber structure requiring bespoke tie details, a complex roof geometry with multiple levels and facade projections, and a high footfall city centre location with unrestricted guest and public access at all times.
Brand Access Solutions installed the CUPLOK System Scaffold across three split levels, with phased sequencing and watertight sheeting ensuring continuous weather protection throughout the programme. A modular large-span roof system with integrated drainage allowed works to continue in all weather conditions, keeping the project on track year-round.
Public safety was central to every decision on site. Clear fencing, safe pedestrian routes and fan beams for dropped-object protection were all incorporated into the design. Early morning deliveries minimised disruption to local traffic, while exclusion zones and dedicated marshalling completely segregated the public from active scaffold works at all times.
