NASC publishes 2026 Annual Report at Annual General Meeting

NASC has officially launched its 2026 Annual Report, reviewing a year of significant progress, reform and achievement across the scaffolding and access sector during 2025.

The report will be presented to members at the NASC Annual General Meeting, held at Hogarths Hotel in Solihull later today. It provides a comprehensive overview of activity across NASC, CISRS and ScaffEx during a landmark year for the organisation.

The publication captures a year that saw NASC celebrate its 80th anniversary, achieve record membership growth, introduce major governance reforms, strengthen its technical guidance programme and further enhance its role as the leading voice of the UK scaffolding and access industry.

Speaking in the report, NASC President David Brown described 2025 as "a landmark year for NASC", highlighting the organisation's continued commitment to safety, competence and professionalism while helping members respond to the demands of a changing market. Membership grew by 11% during the year, exceeding targets and reinforcing NASC's position as the UK's largest trade body for scaffolding and access.

The report also reflects on the success of ScaffEx25, held at Manchester Central in September, which firmly established itself as the industry's flagship event. Bringing together contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, designers, training providers and clients, the event showcased innovation, technical excellence and the future direction of the sector. It also hosted several major industry developments, including governance changes within NASC and the inaugural board meeting of the International Access and Scaffolding Association (IASA).

NASC Group CEO Clive Dickin said the year demonstrated the strength and resilience of the organisations within the NASC Group.

If there is one thing 2025 showed, it is that the institutions we have built are strong and resilient. NASC, CISRS and ScaffEx all entered 2026 more modern, more visible, more internationally connected and more determined than ever.

The report details a broad range of achievements during the year, including:

  • An 11% increase in NASC membership, taking total membership to 923 organisations.
  • The publication of 20 new guidance documents and four new safety posters.
  • The successful introduction of the Summer Safety Day event.
  • Significant reforms to NASC governance and membership structures.
  • Continued development and expansion of TG30 for system scaffolding.
  • Major investment in new digital infrastructure and member services.
  • Growth in CISRS activity, with more than 117,000 CISRS cardholders globally and over 78,000 in the UK.

The report also outlines substantial changes within CISRS during 2025, including governance reforms, the creation of a fully independent Quality Assurance Committee and continued work to modernise training delivery and strengthen quality assurance across the network.

Alongside celebrating progress, the report pays tribute to Wayne Connolly, who sadly passed away in December 2025 while serving as NASC President and Chair and CISRS Chair. The report recognises his leadership, vision and significant contribution to the modernisation of the organisations and the wider industry.

Launching the report at the AGM, Dickin reaffirmed NASC's commitment to championing safety, raising standards and supporting members as the industry continues to evolve. As the organisation moves beyond its 80th anniversary year, the report highlights a clear focus on future growth, innovation, workforce development and maintaining the highest standards across scaffolding and access.
