NASC Celebrates Women in Construction Week 2026
This week marks Women in Construction Week 2026, an opportunity to recognise the brilliant women contributing to the construction industry across a wide range of roles.
While construction is often associated with those working on site, the sector is supported by professionals across operations, events, finance, marketing and many other disciplines. Together, these roles help drive the standards, collaboration and expertise that underpin our industry.
To mark the week, we asked the women of NASC, what they enjoy most about working in the construction sector. Their responses highlighted the collaborative nature of the industry, the strong sense of community across the sector and the opportunity to contribute to an industry that prioritises safety, innovation and high standards.
NASC Events Operations Manager, Emily Brouder, commented: "What I enjoy most about working in this sector, is that I get to create events that bring together such a skilled and decent group of people, who clearly care so passionatley about representing and striving to do the best for an industry they care so much about".
NASC Head of Finance, Sarah Phillips, commented: "I enjoy hearing about clever solutions to complex problems. Scaffolding provides vital access for construction and maintenance all over the world, often very clever engineering is needed to give access to difficult places. A favourite example is where scaffolding is used high up on a tall building, a platform is cantilevered out of windoes, and the scaffold is built up from that platform".
As the construction industry continues to evolve, recognising and supporting diverse talent across all areas of the sector remains essential to its future. Women across NASC play an important role in supporting the scaffolding and access industry, helping to maintain the standards and professionalism that define the sector.
